Falling in love with Phuket (Finale)

We had an easy day the next day. We got a hotel staff to help us rent a car. He managed to get us a Honda Jazz for the day. Not any Honda Jazz but the latest model. Scratches aside, the car was a joy to ride in. It was smooth and spacious. The air-con was blistering cold. Hot air outside, Cold air inside. Great!

So we took to the streets as soon as we could. Viewing Phuket from a cruising car will provide you with a totally different experience. The air conditioner was an absolute plus point. Eddy and Yen Ping were the navigators. With maps in their hands, they were ready for anything that comes their way. I regretted not bringing along my iPhone. Having Google Maps with us would have been helpful.

Our ride through the windy coastal roads was blissful. We turned and bent according to the black snaky roads. Sometimes wondering where we were. We did pass the temple on the hill but did not perform the horning ritual. I guess the hill gods pardoned us for being a tourist. Soon we were by the coastal areas of Phuket. South of it to be exact.

Beach, beach, beachie….they had loads of it. Endless stretch of empty beeches for your pleasure. The waves were too choppy to swim in, only for viewing pleasure. Soon we were our way to a local Thai temple. I am going to skip the temple part and go straight ahead to the Big Buddha.

The Big Buddha, sitting calmly on the peak of Phuket hill was a sight to remember. It is larger then you can imagine. As you get up close, you will start to wonder why the size? Maybe it was erected to tell the sea gods to end the tsunami or maybe it was made that large to remind the people of Phuket that they are in good hands. Whatever the case is I felt at peace when I saw him. Buddha was covered with white marble. We bought a slab of it worth RM30 and wrote our well wishes to our family, love ones and friends. As usual “We wish you prosperity and good health”.

As we walked up the steep hill we got to ring the little bells that were adorning the path. They gave out little charms when the wind blew. I guess that was also for good luck. The view from the top was absolutely breath taking. The wind and the sun rays brought me blissful thoughts. I felt one with karma. Buddha was just as beautiful up close.

On the way down the hill we stopped by a little ‘Greek Motive’ restaurant to have pineapple fried rice. It was clean and practically on the edge of the hill. The view of the oceans and the little buildings along it gave more flavors to dish that we were eating. It would not have been that great tasting if it was not for the view. Our next destination after that was Phuket Town which looked just like Klang Town.

After driving around for hours, we headed back to the hotel to return the car. Eddy and I rushed to the Let’s Relax massage parlor. Yen Ping and Geh Wynn stayed back to settle the car. They joined us soon after.

Our foot massage was stimulating to the bone. Thoughts of excitement came to my mind. Ideas and dreams came into play. It was like as thought a human dream weaver was at play controlling what I think and do. I felt mesmerize and soon fell asleep after. After 45 minutes we were lead to the room upstairs for our full body massage. She pulled and applied pressure to all the key points on my body. At one point, her hands were a bit too close to my private part. I could have sworn if she did touch it, I would have said “Hay watch the piece lady!” The last part of the session had me lying on my front chest. She brought in hot sand or small hot stones wrapped in cloth. It gave out a certain smell and it was really smoking my ASSSSS! It was placed all over my back and my ass. Legs included. That was something new to experience. Soon we were done. Our batted body over the past days was treated well. What a great way to spend the last hours of our trip.
