Lost for breath and gasping for air, we were finally face to face. I never knew that I would be standing before her this soon but there she was. Bring your attention to the reflection that bounces off the little lake, yeah right it was absolutely huge! It was design this long to capture the entire reflection of the Taj Mahal, that is from where I was standing. The lush greenery on both sides added to the alternative dimension. Very similar to those HDTVs with mood lights installed from behind. In this case, centuries before, this was already thought off and it was called contrast! It was very tempting for all of us to jump in to have a swim.
Along the way to the foot of the Taj Mahal - we took the usual tourist shots that was highly recommended by our helpful tour guide. "Stand up here sir, yes you, quickly" as he started to wave his hand around to push the crowd aside. What we were instructed to do was to use our fingers to pinch the Taj Mahal, as though we were picking it up. Yeah, very common in Europe, remember the Eiffel Tower and the leaning Tower of Pizza global incident. They all suffered the same fate and lady Taj had to experience it too. Next we had to do was to sit on the bench that Princess Diana blessed, opps I meant sat on. You know it was a struggle to position our backsides on it because everyone was competing to do the same. We finally did so and went on to do our next stunt ~ the jumping stunt and I am not going to explain that to you.
The Taj Mahal got more and more beautiful as we got closer to her. Everything was more detail and you will soon notice the amount of work that was labored into it. Beauty that was carved out of chisels and pure hard work. Times has changed and in those days time itself was sacrificed for passion and detail workmanship. Today we have the building technology at our fingertips, to build skyscrapers even before the developer buys the land. I can't even imagine how every single Indian marble was painfully laid in place. There has to be an alien living in a camp somewhere to help out. I mean imagine this. the Indians comes up with their imaginative designs and later summons the aliens, with their UFOs, to come and zap up the whole place. That makes perfect sense to me. Nevertheless everything was spectacular and she was as beautiful as everyone said she was.
We were told to put on blue condoms over our shoes to protect the marble. It was slippery as we were about to step into the unknown. The emotions runs deep, the idea behind the whole creation, the betrayal and the love story, Indian marble, blue condom and the whole fact that I am stepping on marble that was once used to support the very foundation of Agra. What an amazing retrospect that I have achieved with my small head, a talent that was unlikely to have been harvested during my school days but I had it all along. We stepped into the interior of the Taj Mahal and I was again unable to take in so much beauty. Here we go again.
