Seoul: DMZ before North Korea

Our last activity on our itinerary was to visit the DMZ. We were nervous and rather blurred out with all the security regulations they told us. For example, we are not to swear or act like monkeys. Dress appropriately and never simply point your camera around. It may look like a weapon or you may just look like a spy.

Our first stop before the DMZ was home base. We were sent there for a briefing of the whole situation and that our lives are at risk if a war does break out. We accepted the terms and conditions anyway. We got on a special military vehicle and a American soldier came on board with us to make sure we behave.

The whole environment was tense at the DMZ. What separates the two countries is a concrete divider no higher than 1 feet. It was tempting to just put one leg over to see what happens. Jokes aside, having done so may just cause World War 3. It was really stressful to stand face to face with North Korea knowing that both South Korea and them are technically at war.
