Tokyo: Kumade is over me

My first day in Tokyo brought me face to face with this highly decorated Kumade; otherwise known as the 'Rake'. During the edo period, rakes were used to sweep fallen leaves. People decorated theirs lavishly with good luck charms and sold them at shrines to rake in success, wealth, health and happiness. Simply the same as what the Chinese wants just that we do this over some brandy, shout Yam Seng and eat meaty fish. Anyway, jokes aside, this Kumade can be found at the Shinjuku Government Building. The surrounding area is painfully quite.
