Genting Trip

The long weekend is here. I hardly get a weekend off without worrying about work or school. The only thing left for me to do now is to sit back, relax and have fun with my partner. The hotel room is booked and transportation has been arranged. We are heading to Genting.

Our Genting bus left 1Utama at 10am sharp. I really appreciate punctuality these days. It really helps when you want to keep a tab on the schedule ahead. I was not at all surprise about the demographics of the passengers on board. They range from middle age to the elderly. The elderly lady who sat behind us spoke about her past time indulgence in gambling. Her children works overseas. A sum of money is sent back to her periodically and confessed that the money is used on gambling. She claims that there is no one to gamble with back home. Most of her mah jong members went back to the place they came from. Before we knew it we were already on our way up to Genting on the bubble car.

Upon arriving at Genting we felt the hustle and bustle of people surrounding us. Everyone seems to be rushing off to somewhere. As for us, we were rushing off to check in at the First World Hotel. The lobby was filled with people. Seriously speaking it felt like we were in a bank. Guests have to take a ticket number first before approaching the reception. There were also check-in and check-out machines installed around the lobby, basically to check yourself in. How amazing is that! The management here totally ripped out the customer service part from the business operations workflow.

The room of the First World Hotel was impressive. All the basic necessities are available even though the room is small. You will find a safety box, clothes hanger, tv, simple toilet and most importantly clean towels. Pretty impressive. We unpacked and headed out to explore Genting.
