Painting portraits with a different technique

Here are two portraits I have treasured most since its completion. I was using a different technique to interpret texture of the human face. The different shades on the human face was achieved with layer of tones and brush strokes. It took me 3 days to get the tone I wanted to achieve.

The background is filled with blotches of paint. White was used to mix with the colour used for the background. With a brush, both paint colour was mixed on the canvas itself. The swirling brush strokes are evident in both paintings.

I am very happy with these two but I have decided to give up the technique and pay more focus towards vector painting technique. This is because of the limited time I have these days. Vector painting is more managable and has limitless creative potential.
