Our respiratory organs were filled with the scent of dark roasted coffee beans, previously complimenting our sense of smell for this liquid drug. It is really the scent of the South African charm that had us going as everyone else were preparing for the show. As the tasteful chicken sandwich filled our stomach, we were accompanied by Sharon Baker & Bernice Chauly who both fell in love with English literature many moons ago. They shared with us their readings, pantuns and poetry, all of which helped to entice our taste buds for coffee like never before. How I have longed to satisfy my ears until Liyana Fizi, formerly from Estrella, came on stage to project her melodic voice which brought depth and colours to our surroundings.
