Singapore: The birth of the violin
I remember going to a violin shop once to collect my violin case. It was love at first sight when I first saw it. It was like the sex room for the violin. Nice padding inside and equally sexy outside. It cost me RM700+. I was out of my mind, exactly the way how I felt about my violin. Good thing I stumbled upon this violin making class. Two Italians, proud of their craft, shared what it's like to be a violin maker and the level of understanding involved in making one. The wood used for their violin were only harvest from the forest at the end of the year, at night. According to them, at that point in the year, the gravity pull from earth helps to extract water from the tree trunks, hence preventing moisture in the tree trunk. How freaking sexy is that. Now where is my violin?
