Jaipur: Eating on the floor

After a long day at Jaipur we were both physically and mentally exhausted. Imagine sitting in a van for 5 hours straight. After that there was another good 3 hours of travelling within Jaipur itself. I could just about sit on anything these days. My ass is as flat as the floor that I was sitting on; shown in the picture above.

We are at a Rajasthan restaurant savoring the spices and chilis that were prepared solely to blow your mind away. Sauces and side dishes were served on leaves that are very much shaped like bowls. Now you would think that this is a tourist spot and that they would go easy on you but No! This is India and their tourism industry is pretty much domestic. The food I had was burning hot. Every scoop I took was another blow to my already raptured throat. I had this weird feeling that the waiters were just amused by us and how we were handling it. 'Check out those Chinese white chickens! I bet they can't last even 5 minutes!' 30 minutes passed and I was still going strong but in my mind I was saying 'Fork! This is hot!'

Well there were no stage plays prepared that night but there was indeed a young Indian lady sitting in front of us that was pretty attractive. I guess it got the most of our appetite going that night. Also this restaurant is not just a restaurant. It is a restaurant come amusement park showcasing the traditional activities of Rajasthan. We sat on an elephant, watch puppet shows, experience snake dancers and of course admire the way the Singhs celebrated their night away.
